[Gift] The 11th Hour | Wish
They had never met, never even knew the other existed, nothing would have changed if they never met, just like nothing had changed when they did meet. They seemed as if they were two sides of the same coin, alike in many ways and yet so very different. They stood watching each other with similar interest, just standing and admiring. They weren’t twins by any means but the form they took was oddly similar. Their colors were different, and their traits were different and yet here they stood, staring at each other. The blue dragon appeared to be in awe of what he was seeing and the other, a tan dragon of sorts, fluttered her eyelashes, a mischievous look in her beautiful brown eyes. His wings shifted behind him and his tail did the same, the spikes at the end of it glinting in the moonlight. The stranger moved her tail slightly as well, the much larger spikes doing the same. Hawthorn has never met another dragon that stood up like he did, that could potentially pass as a rider, like he could. It was a welcome surprise and he tilted his head at her. She mimicked him slightly, that glint still in her pretty eyes.
Perhaps he, Hawthorn, had wished upon a shooting star and the star had answered by leading him to where he was now or perhaps he was just unnervingly lucky. After all he had seen a shooting star yes, he had wished on it yes but the only reason he was even out here was because his rider’s pair was still a little freaked out by Hawthorn. Hawthorn could see why, a dragon that looks like a rider is indeed kind of uncanny but that wasn’t any reason to be so mean but Bran was Bran and Hawthorn could put up with it for the sake of his rider. “Hi! I’m Hawthorn~” His tone was casual but pleased and he stuck out a hand as if to shake the strangers, as a rider would do when meeting a new rider, as if HE were people. To his general delight the other dragon took his hand with a smile and shook it. “I’m King.” Hawthorn tilted his head a moment, King? He thought that this dragon was female but who was he to judge? “It’s because my markings look like a king cheetah, not because I’m male.” She was still smiling at him, the glint still in her eye just waiting to be released. “Would you believe me if I said I wished upon a star for company and bumped into you?”
The stranger paused for a moment before breaking out into little fits of laughter. “Bet you say that to all the strange dragons you meet.” This time it was Hawthorn’s turn to chuckle, he shook his head a little when his giggles subsided. He smiled kindly at her, “Believe it or not, I did indeed wish on a star to find a dragon that shared some of my more rider-like attributes…” She stopped giggling for a moment, looked Hawthorn in the eye and they once again fell into easy chuckles.
