[Gift] The 11th Hour | Blessing
They were opposites, like night and day, one a bright and colorful, winged horse, graced with a wondrous pair of antlers and the other a dark creature with black eyes, insectoid wings and a crest of sharp spines. Looks wise they were as different as different can be and personality wise it wasn’t much different. It was a wonder how they became a couple and stayed a couple. The light dragon was vain, she loved herself quite a bit, she knew she was beautiful and none could tell her otherwise. Her dark aligned friend seemed intimidating due to her looks but in reality she was a sweetheart, she didn’t mind other dragons as much as Lyra did.
They were together now, the moon shone so brightly that it almost appeared to be day but it was still dark enough that it was most definitely night. Jace didn’t mind the day time but she felt more at ease when the sun had said goodnight and the moon's light was all there was to light the area. Lyra lay comfortably on a slightly raised hill of grass and Jace sitting, perched mainly on her hind legs, one hand resting near Lyra and the other hand brushing through the horse-like dragon's brown mane. The dark dragon was gentle, sharp nails carefully scratching under the light dragon's mane. Lyra had her eyes closed, breathing slowly and carefully, from a ways away you would assume she was asleep but that wasn’t completely the case. Jace moved her gentle hand further down Lyra’s neck and the other dragon seemed to lean further into the touch. It was times like this that Lyra enjoyed most, no stupid giant ocean dragons, or that wretched Speedy and her demon spawn, just her and her girlfriend. One might even say today, right now, was a blessing, anytime for just her and Jace was a blessing if she was being completely honest.
Jace smiled as best she could with her strange mouth and if she had any light in her dark eyes, she was sure they’d be shimmering, full of love that only one two creatures in the world had ever felt, her rider Levi and the dragon she was currently with. She loved some of and like most of Levi’s other dragons but this feeling would never be felt towards any other dragon but Lyra. How blessed she was to have caught the eye of and kept the eye of the beautiful light dragon she currently had her claws on. There was something in her that reveled in the trust this other dragon must have to let Jace put her sharp and dangerous claws anywhere the dark dragon wanted. Perhaps it was because Lyra trusted her completely, knowing Jace would never intentionally hurt her and that in itself was also a blessing.
Lyra opened her eyes, lifting her head slightly and moving it towards Jace who met her head with her own, eyes closed as they nuzzled against each other. Yes. They were a blessing indeed.
