[Gift] The 11th Hour | Candlelight
It was quiet, as it usually was when the two dragons were around each other. You’d think that being a soon to be bonded pair, they would have more to say to each other but alas they were more than happy to sit in comfortable silence. They were in a cave, a dark, dry place filled with flowers and plants, happily grown by Tucker himself for comfort. Outside the cave a blizzard blew past, luckily no wind blew directly into the cave but still it caused the light green dragon some anxiety as he watched the storm. Around the cave, far from the walls, were candles, scattered in what could be a random order but it was hard to tell if that was the case or not. The candlelight flickered every once in a while and sometimes a candle would go out and the dark green dragon who was currently accompanying Tucker would relight it with the tiniest puff of fire.
It was freezing outside but you never would have been able to tell that, being in that cave, Hecate was producing such a vast amount of heat from her body that the cave stayed a bit warmer than outside the cave. It wasn’t enough to heat the whole cave fully but the closer you were to the fire dragon the warmer you became and that was enough for Tucker. In fact, he feared that if she put out any more heat she might put out too much and set his gloriously plant decorated wall on fire by accident. Although even if she did do that, it wouldn’t stop him from loving her any less and loving her was all that mattered. He finally stood, approaching her in the dim candlelight, he sat carefully next to her, wiggling a little to get comfortable. He was a bit bigger than her but that didn’t stop her from curling her long tail around his settled body, she turned her head towards his lowered one and the tentacles around her head reached out to feel his face lovingly.
He smiled calmly, letting one of his wings stretch out before settling comfortably on his mate. He felt her tongue gently across his happy green face and allowed his eyes to slowly slip shut. This was perfect, she was perfect, he wondered how he had ever managed to convince this stunning dragon to become his mate. When he reopened his eyes it was to watch the light of the candles bounce across the cave walls, to watch the light catch the flowers that decorated it and then to watch the continued blizzard outside their safe place. Together they watched the entrance, making sure to keep the candle lit and the atmosphere calm. Tucker once again felt his tired eyes beginning to close and when they did this time, he snuggled as close as possible to Hecate and let out a deep satisfied sigh. How romantic this was danced in his head along with just how tired he was. He felt Hecate’s spiked head rest atop his and she too let out a tired sigh before closing her own eyes.
