A Feast fit for a Queen

They were an odd couple, one might even say scary, especially the female, Boney Jones. The people around where she lived knew her well, knew she was not to be messed with and yet here a male stood, trying to impress her as best as he could. The whole meeting had been set up by their riders and God was pretty sure if that wasn’t the case Boney Jones would not be giving him the time of day right now. She was strange, skeletal in nature and he could see where some might find her rather disturbing but not God, God didn’t seem to mind at all.

She eyed him carefully, not quite interested but also not uninterested enough to chase him off. Would she be able to chase him off? He was a colossal sized dragon, with a mouth full of giant razor sharp teeth, four front limbs with sharp tipped claws but his personality was that of a mouse. She snorted at the thought. A dragon of his size should care not for how others view him but he seemed to want to make himself smaller, less threatening, so she reckoned she would be able to chase him off if that was what she truly wanted. In a way she was a simple dragon, if there was food involved, she was less likely to be disinterested.

God watched the smaller dragon with curious eyes, he was interested, she was pretty in a way. He was sure that others who saw her would not think so but God saw the world a little differently than others might. He wasn’t stupid by any means but all dragons were pretty in their own way and who was he to say otherwise? A god? No…perhaps not. This whole meeting had been set up by their riders and while Gabriel was a bit skeptical, he had heard the rumors of Magnus, he still agreed because God seemed okay with the idea.

So meet they had, the first meeting seemed to have gone rather well, neither dragon being openly hostile at each other, only mild curiosity buzzed between them. The second meeting would be God’s chance to woo the skeletal horse and woo he would. He had first thought to bring her gems or treasure but she didn’t seem like the kind of dragon who would be all that interested in that stuff. The other option he thought of was to bring her food, good food and with his size, impressive food was possible. So he had gone out to hunt for the perfect prey, he wasn’t an herbivore but he hated killing anything without good reason. However this seemed like a good enough reason to kill and he had an idea on what to hunt.

He had no wings, no way to fly, so he had to walk to his destination. Mountains formed as he made his way along, helping him over dense forests without causing too much damage to the ecosystem. Sometimes he hated how big he was but also it came in handy when he needed to intimidate others that may threaten his home. He made it to where he was trying to go and his thundering footsteps turned unnervingly quiet as he spotted his prey. A herd of mammoths that his rider had been keeping an eye on, these were to be used as food occasionally, depending on the nesting dragons Gabriel was keeping. By the time the mammoths realized God was there he already had one in his clutches, next to God the poor mammal was the size of a deer to a large dragon. He killed it quickly and painlessly before scooping it up with his primary hands. He quickly brought it back, following the path he had taken to get there in order to not cause more harm to the ecosystem of course and laid the mammoth down at Boney Jones hooves. He watched her cautiously for any sign of how she felt and a wave of relief seemed to wash over him as her eyes softened just a little.
