Trainer Job Promotion (I-II)

She had a goal and it was very VERY important to her, it was the primary reason that she had decided to become a trainer. She had gotten into a fight when she was a little younger, a fight she had lost and then the other rider had taunted her for losing and that had lit a fire in her. When she threw the “first punch” it was behind the others back, a cowardly move perhaps but even then she had known the distance between her and that rider’s skill but the other rider had done something unforgivable, at least to Hailey. Not only had the other rider betrayed Hailey, insulted her but they had had the nerve to insult one of her dragons and that was NOT something the diluted calico cat could allow.

Sure some may say it was a stupid reason to start a brawl but they must not understand the bond between some dragons and their riders. She hadn’t won that fight but she had gotten a few good bites and scratches, so it wasn’t a complete loss. Athena had also been a part of that interaction and unlike Hailey, she had won her fight in a way. The strong sharp spikes on the orange dragon's back had done a number on that stupid bigger dragon's hand and it hadn’t tried to attack Athena again after that. It could have been because the riders had finished their fight rather quickly but Athena and her rider would stand by the fact the spikes hurt real bad and the bigger dragon did NOT want to feel that pain again.

They had gone home after that altercation, both covered in blood, Athena in just the other dragon's blood and Hailey covered in her own blood, the other rider's blood AND the other dragon's blood. When they had gotten home, she double checked Athena, just to make sure the orange dragon wasn’t actually hurt and then she proceeded to hose the confident dragon down. She felt filthy as she finally walked through the front door of her house and into the bathroom, she needed a long hot shower. The unfortunate part of being covered in scratches and bites, is that a nice hot shower is painful. Hailey had never gotten into a physical fight before, so this had been a learning experience. She hissed through the initial pain before gently washing up, making sure all the blood and wounds were clean as possible, so they would be ready for her to treat them.

She sat down, wrapped in a towel to mostly air dry, not wanting to risk towel drying herself and irritated her wounds, scared they might start bleeding again, which she decided wouldn’t be fun. She sighed loudly as she pondered her decision. Now that the adrenaline was gone and she was relaxed, clean and safe in her own house her thoughts began to wander. “Its not so bad.” Her head jerked up to stare at the bathroom window. Athena stood, heading sticking through the open window, “We showed those assholes what's what!” The orange dragon blew a snort of air and smoke left her nostrils as she remembered what she did to that stupid bigger dragon. “You mean, you showed that dragon what's what and I embarrassed myself…” She sighed again and put her head in her hands. Athena tilted her head a little, her good mood not affected at all. “This just means we…” Hailey lifted her head, opening her mouth to object, “yes WE, need to get stronger, yeah?” Hailey let a small smile grace her features. “Yeah…I guess you’re right.”
