Games and Flames
He was a beast, a demon, taking a physical form in the real world. He was a sight to see, indescribable with his marking, sporting a head of large dangerous antlers, his head was a skull, full of sharp dangerous teeth. His wings were gigantic, impressively truly but his personality wasn’t the best. He was mean, mean in a way that made his beauty useless. What was the point in beauty if your personality didn’t match? She herself wasn’t anything to scoff at either. She sported deadly sharp, curved horns, sharp claws and her wings were as big as his, the flames around her body seemed to answer her emotions as she watched him with suspicion. She didn’t truly want to be here and it appeared that neither did he and yet here they were, facing off.
There was an uncomfortable tension in the air, an uneasiness that quieted the space around them. Not even the birds were singing, no leaves rustled in the occasional wind. There was nothing and no one except the two dragons. It was as if neither wanted to move, of course they could and yet they did not. Through the silence there was a pull in Suzaku’s mind, a tiny feeling that perhaps this wasn’t so bad, that this other dragon could be trusted. There was a tiny tilt to Sleipnir’s head as Suzaku’s eyes left him for just a second. No. He couldn’t…she didn’t know him but that tiny pull was relentless. The pull turned into something harder, a tugging that was incredibly unpleasant and she gave her head a shake. No…STOP IT. The fire that ran along her body grew bigger, and hotter. The heat was an uncomfortable one, the grass beneath her feet was burnt to a crisp in a large circle. She was like a volcano erupting, the flames dancing from her body and into the sky to an impressive height. In her outburst she had missed the tiny step back the male dragon had made, not that he would ever admit he did that.
How interesting…the amount of energy the fire dragon must have wasted in that silly little display must have been a lot. He noticed when the fire had died down, she seemed a little less alert, a little tired perhaps? The damage to the earth beneath their feet was large as well, he hadn’t even noticed that the burnt ground had almost been underneath his own hooves. While he wasn’t exactly interested still, he had to admit, the show of strength was impressive to a degree. Fighting off his charm magic seemed even more impressive, although he wasn’t trying incredibly hard to charm her. More like poking at a fire-ant hill to see how many ants came rushing out, he smiled to himself, unseen by Suzaku. Perhaps she was worth more than he had originally thought of her, just a little.
She hadn’t seen his tiny smile because it was gone before she looked up but there was still something off putting about him. It was like she could sense the smugness of him, like she had fallen into a trap or a game that he had set up unbeknownst to her and she HATED it. She didn’t hate much, she was a happy dragon most of the time but there was something about this beast that rubbed her all kinds of the wrong way. She snorted through her nose, a puff of smoke leaving it, as if to make a statement. Whatever his plans were, they weren’t going to work on her, nope, not at all.
