boys are gross

The day had a chill in the air, a frosty bite that would have most, if not all creatures big and small staying holed up in their nice warm dens. Away from the cold and whatever was happening in the small clearing, especially what was happening in the small clearing. The clearing was surrounded with loosely spaced trees which hid the sun with crispy brown leaves, ready to fall at any moment. The sun shone weakly on the more central parts of the clearing, where the two dragons sat or well, one sat and one lay.

He was a dark beast, a beast of fire, he burned hot with flames constantly dancing around his feet, his eyes and a vein of pure fire across his belly. He was a sight to behold indeed and yet here he was, lying on what was once a large cold rock, now warmed thanks to himself, and refusing to move. She on the other hand was much more colorful, with greens and reds, greys that bled blue and orange stripes. If Leos was a sight to behold then this dragon was a painting come to life. Her claws were sharp and deadly and her three tails ended in small but most definitely sharp spikes. The sharp spikes on her tail were extra noticeably as she lashed her tails, the whipped in annoyance, hitting the earth with solid thuds as she watched the male. The dirt around her lashing tails seemed to scatter more and more as she kept hitting the same spots over and over.

She glared at him, her piercing blue gaze, a frightening sight to some but when the other dragon met it, he simply snorted and rolled over, preparing to sun his other side. Something snapped in her, so loud that all the surrounding wildlife had to have heard it and scattered because boy was she pissed. His nonchalant attitude annoyed her even further, if that was at all possible. She felt a growl bubbling up in her chest, a head under her paws but she squashed it down. What she could squash down was the emotions that shot through her and into her tails, that never ceased their lashing. Then along with the snap within her there was a deafening CRACK and the earth under her powerful tails cracked open and she paid it no mind because the black dragon paid it no mind. She had accidentally split the earth open and he didn’t even spare her a glance, merely yawned while looking the other direction.

Her ears fell back against her head, nearly disappearing into the lion’s mane around her neck, her eye twitched and then twitched again and her tails paused their movements. What on earth was she even doing here? What was the point of this nonsense if this other dragon wasn’t going to court her or pay any attention to her whatsoever? Answer. There wasn’t a point, perhaps she should just go home, worry about this never again. She took a deep breath and then another and then another even deeper than before. She breathed, trying to calm herself as much as possible and then Leos glanced at her, snorted again and yawned. Her tails moved before she could process what was happening, the smashed spikes first into the giant rock that the other fire dragon was resting upon, breaking it to bits and causing the other dragon to finally stand up. This time it was her turn to snort because he looked vaguely offended that she had just ruined his perfect sunning spot. Serves him right.
