[Gift] The 11th Hour | Jewelry

Warm evening light poured through the small caravan window, painting the curved wooden ceiling in shades of gold and amber. The little room smelled faintly of cedar, dried flowers, and old blankets warmed by the afternoon sun. Outside, pine trees swayed gently in the breeze, but inside the cabin everything felt cozy and still.

Aiko adored it here, it was home.

The small dragon lounged across the thick blankets piled on the loft bed, her tail hanging lazily over the edge while she sorted through a collection of jewelry scattered around her. Necklaces glimmered beside polished bracelets, and several rings had already rolled into the folds of the blankets. She picked up a long golden necklace first and carefully looped it around her neck. The chain rested neatly against the fluffy fur on her chest, catching the warm orange glow from the lantern hanging near the stairs. Aiko tilted her head toward the nearby window, admiring her reflection in the glass.

“Elegant,” she declared confidently, turning her head left and right, to catch a glimpse of herself at every angle. She refocused on the collection she had laid out before focusing on a few bracelets. They were tiny, the perfect fit for her tiny artificial limbs and she wondered where her rider had gotten them… or perhaps he had made them just for her? She slid several onto one forearm, then added more to the other until they clinked softly every time she moved. She laughed quietly to herself and shook her arms again just to hear the sound.

She smiled happily to herself, perhaps that was a bit too much.
