China loved tea, she loved the drink itself in all its flavours and variations, but above all, she loved the patterns and shapes the tea cups and tea pots were, each one a design, stunning and evocative. She was most fond of the china pattern on which she herself has been draped in. Her wings, twin halves of a teacup, her scales, stunning segments, not broken, crafted shards of the tea sets, and her crest, a miniature teapot, so expertly crafted that she couldn't help but be proud of it; and the best thing, there were new patterns all the time (and new tea flavours as well).

She peered at the set Infront of her, her wings quivering, this set wasn't new, no, instead it was an old, plain white set, one that had likely served many teas over the years, cracks and chips visible... but what made this so interesting is the cracks had been repaired, not hidden, but ... redone .... gold had been used, turning the damage into a feature, Kinsugi it was called, to China, it was giving a loved tea set more life, the ability to serve for many years to come...

She trailed her talons carefully over the gilded pattern, each crack that was now celebrated a story to be told, a lesson. Her soul soothed, she took a sip of the tea from one such cup (almost as big as herself), the tea, simple breakfast...... but with a hint of biscuit.... humming to herself she savoured the flavours, her knowledge growing with each taste and tea she sampled.
