Renewal of a Bean

Bean shuddered as he stood in the chilly forest. The trees arced high above his little body, and his diamond shaped pupils flickered from one waving bow to the other, making sure there weren't any larger dragons around that could be his undoing.
It irritated Bean a bit that he was the only dragon that seemed to get targeted by stray ones these days. Aiko ALWAYS got protection from the bigger dragons, but Bean? Never. They wanted nothing to do with him since he started on his strange magic journey, anyway. Granted, they had gotten a fair amount of shocks over the last few days from him practicing this ritual over and over - or his magic anyway. He'd been practicing his auroras and his sparks, even if he was a lot better at going inside of broken machines and controlling them for Malakai to be able to analyse what the hell was wrong with them.
But today he had a different task in mind. He'd been reading a lot of books about rune magic - Malakai had a lot of them left over after his stint with that spooky demon in the forcefield Monti liked to protect for some stupid reason or another, and Fi barely touched them, so... why not sneak in and read up on them. He'd learned a lot. But mostly, he'd learned how to summon an elemental, which was something Mal was definitely not a fan of. At least until Bean explained what one was, and why he wanted to summon them.
"You're a female??" was his only response. Bean cackled his electric laugh at the words of surprise. At least his feelings were shared outside of his own head, which... made them grow a little closer. Close enough that Mal had let him go do his thing by himself. Who knows - maybe he had instructed the other dragons to leave him alone... this wasn't something you could do with others after all.
Taking a deep breath, he galloped towards the malfunctioning runic forcefield pole Malakai had constructed years before to contain Leshen. It was in disrepair these days, since Leshen was a lot more well behaved then he used to be, but Malakai still liked to keep them working. Reaching it, he circled the pole, studied its runes, and with a sigh - he dove straight into it like a bolt of lightening, his mask falling in a clattering heap on the grass below, narrowly missing the scattered rocks and debris that littered the floor.
It didn't take him long to fix it. Between is practicing and his studies, it was fixed in a matter of crackling, motion, and he shot out the other side of the machine with ease and one flaring explosion that set the grass aflame.
The forcefield hummed back to life as he slipped on his mask - and from its flow of electrical magic, a curious shape began to form...
Ah. Success. His flourish had proven noteworthy after all. Bean smiled his jagged little smile, and strode forth to meet with the burning, bubbling wyrm and ask of it his truest desire.
