[Gift] FOTN - Candlelight

The single candle flickered in the darkness, and Kilauea held his breath trying to shelter it from any strong winds, for at present, it was his only source of light, the shadows unusually thick, cloyingly close… the other problem, was that he couldn’t fly and was walking haphazardly on his hind legs,,, since his front pair were clasping the candle, his lifeline in the darkness

Once stable, he continued his journey, the candlelight lighting the area enough to soothe him, and in it he could see things, a stunning mushroom that reflected the candlelight, an odd stone, bands gleaming as he passed by it. A flicker caught his attention and he waddled over, to find a small shrine, and around it, tiny candles as if an offering. He warred, this candle was his only light, having not yet developed light magic yet… but…

Carefully he used his own candle to light the others, wax dripping as he did so as the candle had been slowly growing smaller; and yet, as the other candles came to light, their range lit the area further, revealing the small shrine in its glory, yes it was a bit worn and faded, with ivy growing around it, but the details remain impressive.

For a few moments he lingered in the now lit area, his gaze on the re-assuring candlelight he'd helped create, but he couldn't linger, for soon not only would his own candle fade but so would these, and the darkness would press in. So he waddled off, the candle continuing to flicker, wax dripping as Kilauea made his way onwards, a new worry forming as it grew smaller and smaller, until a gust of wind took the flame… and yet at the same time the darkness lifted, light spiraling though the canopy, and lighting his way...
