[Trade] GD - Night and Day
Strength Trial
WC: 739
It was a puzzle, one that had come to both Sol and Void's attention. Why, if they did not require a mate, did they need to prove themselves in a Grand Display?. Singularity has many quirks, one of which was a mutation known as Genesis, from their research it was the ability to bear eggs without a mate... It was certainly an enigma, yet .. from everything they had tried, it was impossible,,, which left only the possibility that a dragons magic required the display of sorts simply to be able to have eggs. So they decided to test it further,,, which had led to a second issue, whom could they prove themselves to, for they were both Night and Day, a rare melding of already mythic proportions..... The answer came from Phantom, for they knew of a dragon with the same elements.
Though... the navy gryphon lounging on the sun drenched rock was definitely not a dragon, Sol stared at them curiously as Void kept his senses trained to their companion.. who would not only help with this part, but also second. "You sshould be more aware of your ssurroundings." Came a voice from the gryphon, as its form shifted, becoming a navy cat... that was still lounging in the sun. The shift seamless which had Singularity's full attention... how did they do that and with such ease. That distraction cost them, the young dragon, thrown back as something barrelled into them, not enough to hurt... but enough to make Sol and Void pay full attention... though not quite unified as the massive dragon cast his shadow over them, 6 wings spread wide beneath the sun, flames flickering over his halo and eyes, and wispy clouds partially obscuring his form. Their thoughts were shattered as they stared at the dragon, his wings especially were unusually and they wondered how they worked....
Bahamut chuckled, his flames flickering, he'd known they needed a companion, it was just when. Still they had to prove themselves. Flaring his wings he took off higher to look down where the Singularity stared up... not yet responding... He felt along his day magic, sensing what would stir them to prove.. they were big and still growing, strength to be tempered. Summoning his magic, he fashioned spears of light, powered by flames, and launched them at the other dragon (though he made sure Meiron was not in the line of fire) .
The spears of lights flying towards them pulled them out of their thoughts, still not fully unified, but aware now that this dragon was not just a subject to study, but a real threat if he chose. Roaring they soared into the sky, their own thunder anomaly crackling as they surged towards Bahamut, the suns light barely fazing them as the lashed out with their claws... only for the massive dragon to sidestep... he didn't afterall use his wings like many others did. His tail lashing out and sending Singularity crashing towards the ground... Panic set in, they'd never been overpowered this way, how had he known.... day... day magic, foresight... he knew what they were doing....
Instinct forced them to spread wings, buffering the land below, no longer separate halves, their mind, their most deadly weapon focused on the other dragon far above. Singularity roared as they rose, cutting through the air, the less they thought, the harder they would be to predict... closer closer... their own tail swiping at Bahamut as he dodged their attack, wing claws striking fast colliding into the other day/night dragon and sending the pair of them towards the ground, they wouldn't let him go... they needed to know... they bared their teeth the ground coming them at a speed that would likely hurt them both but they couldn't stop they had to prove themselves.
Meiron opened his eyes as the pair fell, if they hit the ground it would literally be like a meteor, " Stop flirting". Bahamut grinned, his own claws coming to grip Singularity and with a aerial manoeuvre that should of been impossible, he shifted them.... magic flaring as he literally stopped their fall. "You passed." He spoke out loud, not flinching from Singularities powerful grip.. waiting for awareness to surface from the instincts that were driving them.
Singularity's two aspects surfaced, going over the fight, the moves... so much knowledge. They loosened their claws from Bahamut, whose wings were .. well flat.. not folded, just relaxed.

Flexibility Trial
WC: 682
Singularity was still going over their fight as the now navy gryphon led them northwards to where their next challenge awaited, the way the other dragon moved, they wanted to tear him apart to see how he well.. worked... and yet the other part knew that to be not quite right. Maybe they'd learn more if they continued to observe... after all he should not off been able to stop the momentum they'd generated... Sol glanced over where he was ... flying next to them, well .. maybe floating would be the better explanation. Void though watched the lazy sweep of the much smaller gryphon, Bahamut's rider from what they'd gathered.
Their attention was arrested at the rupture in the air... a undocumented entrance to the chronoscape. The gryphon hovering. "I know there is an exit. Lead him to the other ssside." Came the short comment, before the rider landed on Bahamut shifting form once again, vanishing into the other dragons many spikes. "Shall we?" Bahamut asked, his voice polite, but mercurial. They'd been curious, where would they find a terrain that they didn't match, for they had an affinity to all elements; but slipping through the rift, with Bahmut behind them, they realized why the others rider had chosen it... To put it bluntly it seemed to have no element, and shadows of them all... but nothing felt familiar, no magic responded to their call....
Landing Singularity looked around, floating... bits here and there, glowing things that did not feel like light, no sun, no moon... just an expanse of well....something other, something alien.... They wanted to stay and make notes, but... they did need to prove themselves ..... maybe later they could bring Aether. "Stay close." Singularity spoke, their voices one; ignoring the amused flicker of flame in Bahumut's eyes, they hadn't quite worked out why he seemed to well... smug.
It didn't take long to realize that the entire landscape, if one could call it that was impossible to predict, at times the ground was stable, others it vanished as if never there, air density and gravity also shifted randomly. Each step was measure, Singularity spreading their wings wide, each 'feather' testing their surroundings. Void held his claw to halt Bahamut as Sol sensed a massive shift in gravity, carefully they led Bahamut around that, hyper aware (while taking mental notes) of everything.
Time seemed to crawl as they made their way through, at time Singularity paused, the lack of any known element bothering them, then and only then would Bahamut comment, not a lot, but enough to re-assure Singularity, in a way, the fact he didn't seem worried and trusted them, made them think he already knew they'd succeed. "How does seeing the future work?" Singularity asked as the ground started to vanish, unlike him, their wings worked as normal, and they have not yet practiced with their magic enough. "Hmmm...... When i'm not actively blocking it, its like a tree, but one of many, each decision causes a branch to veer off, and it can cascade." Singularity paused, a glimmer of blue sky on the horizon. "Why would you block it?" Imagine what one could learn. "Madness.... confusion, heartbreak, loss, despair." Bahamuts mercurial voice shifted, mimicking the emotion he named. "It is chaos and not in a good way." He looked straight at Singularity, his gaze sharp as the cat hidden from sight started purring as if to soothe him. "Sometimes it is better to not know all the details. Though hints are fun, like a surprise." His voice returned to the normal tone he used.
Singularity nodded, they had not yet delved into those magics yet... so having forewarning was handy... and he had used it against them... They breathed a sigh as the sun light touched them through the rift, and stepped out of the odd space, wings flaring to catch the air; behind Bahamut followed, shaking himself in the sunlight, though it was starting to set.
"Mind if i accompany you for your last trail.... just in case you want to scrutinize me some more." Bahamut hummed.

Providence Trial
WC: 606
Night had fallen by the time the 2 dragons and one navy gryphon reached their destination. Meiron having commented that due to their size going into the chronscape would be better, less chance of them destroying an entire ecosystem. Twin moons shone down on them as they traversed the star studded plains; a vast expanse with varied flora Singularity had not come cross before... neither had Bahamut. Truthfully, they didn't need the other day/night dragon as a companion, he'd just invited himself along... but it did give them more time of observe him and his unusual form, As if sensing their gaze Bahamut flexed each part of his wings.. individually.. before letting them resettle into the normal arrangement. Void narrowed his eyes at the display, they still couldn't work out what the other dragon got from all this.
Both dragons attention returned as the Meiron started to descent wings flaring to land on a rocky ridge.... settling in his haunches to look out over the plains, while above the moons and stars glittered. Singularity was the first to spot the herd, massive towing creatures that was easily came to their shoulders when they were upright... but other than their size and number, they weren't really that impressive, snorting, they took off lunging headfirst into the herd.... warning cries sounding and something lashing out at them. They felt Bahamut knock them out of the way, scythe like tentacles whipping past the large dragons as the herd retaliated. Soaring high, beyond the reach of what had struck they looked out and say what they'd missed.
The beasts looked akin to a chonky antelope in face and body, 6 hooved limbs pawed the ground... but their tail was anything but, long, prehensile and with a razor sharp scythe at the end...... more than enough to take out many predators..... They eyed Bahamut, their fight coming back. "Can you distract them" Since he was here, they were going to use him, he had offered after all. The other dragon nodded, shifting, easily dodging those tails that lashed out,, sneaking glimpses of what was to come Singularity mused. Still, they had something to prove... a glance at the gryphon who was once again dozing... seriously did he do anything?
And then Singularity lunged, in a way trusting Bahamut to keep the weaponized tails away from them, claws outstretched they tore into the nearest, using their size and strength to pull it away from the herd, and their tails, only when clear did they kill it, having used their anomaly to stun it... the electric always present. They dragged it towards Meiron whose tail twitched but otherwise he said nothing before returning to the herd picking out one of the stragglers. This time, they didn't just rely on Bahamut, by observing them, they'd identified a sign for when they were about to strike, which meant they could counter them, lashing with a claw as they struck true once more... but this time they expanded their anomaly, spooking the herd .. made worse by the flaming halo which appeared .....
Another and another fell, Singularity thinning the herd to prove they could provide for a mate, should they wish for a partner, Bahamut seemed to be just enjoying himself, showing off was the only way Singularity could think of it. Finally, they pulled back, the herd stampeding off, spooked and exhausted.... and the pile, easily twice Singularity's height. "Well done." Came Bahamut's comment, even as his rider ignored them snoozing away. Sol preened ever so slightly, while Void huffed. "Now you can help us bring them back." Came the response, and Bahumut simply grinned.
