Snow was never far from Dawn.

The pastel dragon moved through the open winter landscape with a constant veil of white surrounding him, countless flakes drifting through the air wherever he went. They gathered around his body like a living snowfall, some settling briefly against his scales before being carried away by the gentle currents swirling around him. Others danced around his horns, slipped between the pale strands of his mane, or scattered across his long tail before vanishing into the storm. The snow never seemed to come from the sky alone. It followed Dawn wherever he traveled, creating a small, wandering winter that made the world around him seem quieter and softer.

His body was a collection of gentle pastel colors, lavender, pink, pale blue, and creamy whites blending together across his scales. The colors became especially striking beneath the constant snowfall, with individual flakes catching against the different shades before disappearing into the swirling white. His avalanche made it difficult to see where the natural snow ended and where Dawn's own snowfall began. Wherever his feet touched the ground, fresh powder was quickly covered by another layer of drifting flakes.

Calypso was surrounded by the same phenomenon, though her appearance created a much sharper contrast against it.

The medium-sized dragon's body was predominantly white, marked by bold black stripes that followed the shape of her body. Her markings remained distinct even when the snow became thick around her, black bands appearing and disappearing through the shifting veil of white. Snowflakes gathered along her back and wings, collecting in the grooves between her markings before being swept away by another passing current. Her avalanche constantly surrounded her in a flurry of motion, making her seem almost like the center of a small blizzard.

As Calypso moved, the snow around her followed. Her legs disappeared briefly beneath the swirling flakes before emerging again, each step leaving a clear impression in the fresh snow. The black stripes along her tail remained visible as it moved behind her, occasionally becoming almost completely hidden beneath the snowfall before emerging again.

Dawn and Calypso eventually found themselves in the same stretch of snowy ground.

Their avalanches mingled almost immediately.

The two snowstorms collided around them, creating a thicker cloud of flakes that rolled across the ground and rose around their bodies. Dawn's pastel colors became faint shapes through the snowfall, while Calypso's black stripes appeared in fragments between the constantly moving flakes. For a moment, the two dragons were nearly impossible to distinguish from the winter landscape.

A small gust pushed the snow toward them, and Dawn moved closer to Calypso. Their shoulders briefly touched as they passed one another, their combined snowfall curling around them before separating again. Neither dragon needed to do anything else. Their presence alone was enough to turn the quiet landscape into a constantly moving winter scene.

Margret stood nearby, surrounded by his own avalanche.

His appearance was darker than the other two dragons, his black scales covered with clean white stripes that contrasted strongly against the snowy landscape. The white markings seemed almost like extensions of the snow itself, especially when flakes accumulated across his back and sides. His enormous butterfly wings rose above the storm, dark surfaces edged and patterned with white. Snowflakes settled across the broad wings in scattered clusters, making them look as though frost had been painted over them.

His spiked tail dragged lightly through the snow as he moved, leaving a winding trail behind him. Each spike became briefly coated in white before another swirl of flakes brushed across it. The avalanche surrounding Margret was especially noticeable against his dark body. Snow constantly passed over his scales, obscuring sections of his black-and-white markings before the moving storm revealed them again.

When Margret approached Dawn and Calypso, the three avalanches merged into one.

Snow filled the space between them.

Dawn's pastel body became a soft blur of color. Calypso's striped form stood out in sharp fragments, black and white appearing between the flakes. Margret's massive butterfly wings rose above both of them, their dark surfaces disappearing and reappearing through the storm.

For several moments, the three dragons simply remained together.

Snowflakes covered the ground around their feet. More drifted through the air, endlessly falling and swirling around their bodies. The three avalanches overlapped until there was no clear boundary between them. It was no longer three separate snowstorms, but one enormous field of drifting white surrounding three very different dragons.

Dawn's pastel colors, Calypso's bold stripes, and Margret's dark wings provided the only breaks in the endless snowfall.

Then the three dragons began moving together.

Their footprints disappeared almost immediately beneath the fresh snow, their markings fading in and out as the avalanches followed them across the landscape. Wherever they went, winter traveled with them, leaving behind nothing but untouched snow and a few scattered flakes still floating in the air.
