[Gift] FOTN - VL - Mistletoe
The village had not been prepared for three jungle dragons to arrive at once.
Beetle was the first to move through the village streets, his large insect wings folding and unfolding as he traveled between the buildings. His body carried a strongly insectified appearance, with the shape of his limbs and body resembling something far closer to a giant insect than an ordinary dragon. Two flower antennae rose from his head, the blossoms at their tips bobbing with every movement. Behind him stretched his enormous scorpion tail, curling through the air before lowering toward the ground.
Wherever Beetle went, green began to spread.
Mistletoe emerged along wooden fences and village posts, growing rapidly over the surfaces as if the plants had been waiting for something to awaken them. Small green leaves appeared first, followed by clusters of pale berries. Within moments, entire sections of fencing were covered. Beetle moved onward, leaving the growing plants behind him.
The mistletoe climbed walls next.
It spread across the sides of houses, winding around beams and hanging from rooftops in thick bunches. Some of the plants reached down toward windows while others stretched between buildings, creating green curtains over pathways. The village gradually became surrounded by hanging vegetation.
Chihiro moved through the same area shortly afterward.
The large female dragon's deep blue body was covered in darker blue rosettes, each marking remaining visible beneath the growing greenery. Her large, transparent insect wings stretched behind her, catching the light as she passed between the buildings. Two long whiskers extended from her face, moving gently as she traveled, while the white fluffy fur around her neck and chest gave her silhouette the appearance of a large mane. Her two curved horns rose above her head, and her blue eyes remained visible between them.
Mistletoe began growing wherever Chihiro passed.
It climbed the wooden walls and spread over the roofs, wrapping itself around branches and posts. Vines extended from the village and into the surrounding vegetation, connecting the buildings to the trees beyond them. Within a short distance of the village, patches of green began appearing throughout the jungle.
Chihiro continued outward.
The mistletoe followed.
Branches became covered in leaves. Thick clusters formed beneath larger limbs, while smaller bunches appeared along thinner branches. The growth continued farther into the surrounding jungle until the edge of the village was almost impossible to distinguish from the vegetation.
Kilauea joined them next.
The male dragon had a distinctly salamander-like appearance, with insect wings extending from his body and antlers rising from his head. His movements carried him between the newly covered buildings and through the vegetation surrounding the village. His insect wings shifted as he moved, occasionally lifting him above the ground before he returned to the paths below.
More mistletoe appeared.
It spread across the places the other two dragons had already passed, filling gaps between the plants and thickening the green growth. Fresh vines crawled along fences already covered by Beetle's trail. Branches that Chihiro had left partially covered quickly disappeared beneath another layer of leaves.
Soon, all three dragons were moving throughout the village and the surrounding jungle.
Beetle crossed beneath a roof heavily covered in mistletoe, his flower antennae brushing against the hanging greenery as his scorpion tail curled behind him. Chihiro passed beneath another cluster, her transparent wings briefly disappearing behind the thick leaves before emerging on the other side. Kilauea moved between the trees, his insect wings passing through curtains of vines as new growth appeared around him.
The village became almost completely covered.
Mistletoe hung from rooftops in thick clusters. It wrapped around fences and posts, covered sections of walls, and stretched between trees. The plants continued beyond the buildings, spreading into the jungle in every direction. Branches bent beneath the weight of the greenery, while patches of mistletoe appeared high above the ground where the dragons had traveled beneath the canopy.
The three dragons eventually moved beyond the village together.
Their path continued into the surrounding jungle, leaving more growth behind them with every step. Beetle's insect wings carried him between the trees, his flower antennae rising above the vegetation. Chihiro followed through the dense greenery, her dark blue rosettes contrasting with the bright leaves and her transparent wings catching glimpses of the world around her. Kilauea moved alongside them, his insect wings and antlers appearing between the branches.
Behind them, the village had become almost unrecognizable beneath the mistletoe.
Greenery covered nearly everything the three dragons had passed. The plants hung from rooftops, curled around trees, draped across fences, and filled the spaces between buildings. Beyond the village, the same growth continued through the jungle, following the trail left by the dragons.
By the time the three disappeared deeper into the trees, there was barely a surface left untouched.
The mistletoe continued growing behind them, slowly turning the village and its surrounding jungle into one enormous stretch of green.
