Bhramari x Cirrus
Cirrus had decided that today was going to be a very good day. She had found herself in the company of Bhramari, a rather interesting female whose company she was thoroughly enjoying, and she was quite determined to make a good impression. She wasn't particularly vain, nor did she consider herself especially elegant, but she did have a few talents worth showing off. Running, unfortunately, wasn't one of them. She'd already managed to stumble over a rather innocent-looking root on their way through the clearing, and after a brief moment of flailing and an indignant little squawk, she'd continued as though absolutely nothing had happened. Dancing, however, was something she'd been looking forward to. She turned to face Bhramari, gave a bright, high-pitched chirp, and began.
Cirrus started with a slow, deliberate sway, shifting her weight from one foot to the other while keeping her head raised and her wings held slightly away from her sides. Her tail moved in time with the rhythm, sweeping behind her in broad, curling motions. She took a few steps forward, then back again, tilting her head and giving Bhramari a series of cheerful trills. Once she had established the rhythm, she began turning in a small circle, placing each foot carefully before crossing one foreleg over the other in an exaggerated little step. It wasn't especially elegant, and she nearly tangled her feet once, but she caught herself with a quick shuffle and carried on without missing a beat.
The next part of the dance involved her wings. Cirrus spread them wide, holding them open to display their full span before slowly folding them inward again. She repeated the movement several times, each extension accompanied by a high-pitched call, then lowered her body and rocked gently from side to side. Her smoky wisps drifted around her as she moved, following the swaying of her body and the sweeping motions of her tail. She approached Bhramari in a series of small, rhythmic steps, paused just in front of her, and stretched one wing outward in a graceful arc. Then she turned away, giving Bhramari a view of her back and the full shape of her wings before looking over her shoulder with another chirp.
Bhramari watched closely, her antennae shifting as Cirrus moved. Her own wings fluttered, and she answered with a sequence of clicks and trills. Cirrus perked up at the response, her tail swaying a little faster. She began another sequence, this time stepping in a wider circle around Bhramari, occasionally dipping her head and lowering her chest before rising again. Each time she passed in front of the other dragon, she paused to spread her wings, holding the pose for a moment before continuing. The movements were repetitive by design, but Cirrus varied the rhythm and direction, making the dance feel lively rather than mechanical. She was clearly enjoying herself, and every encouraging sound from Bhramari seemed to give her a little more confidence.
Finally, Cirrus brought the dance to a close with a slow turn, her wings opening one last time before settling against her sides. She approached Bhramari with a series of softer chirps, her head lowered slightly and her tail still swaying behind her. Bhramari moved closer in response, clicking gently as she extended her own wings. Cirrus answered with a delighted trill, leaning forward until their cheeks brushed. She looked thoroughly pleased with herself, especially when Bhramari remained close rather than stepping away. She might not have been the most graceful dragon on the ground, but she'd managed to put together a proper display, and judging by Bhramari's reaction, it seemed to have been appreciated.
