Rite of Passage

A Rite of Passage marks the movement from one stage of life to another. For dragons, it shows that they are strong enough to participate in dangerous activities like Challenges and Expeditions. Dragons may skip this rite by using a Minilixer.

Prompts

To complete the Rite of Passage, choose one of the following prompts and turn it in via Activity > Prompt Submissions.

  1. Young dragons are the most common participants of Rites of Passage. Show them discarding their old toys or changing their living space to accommodate a larger size.
  2. Dragons of any age may decide to grow to fit a need. Perhaps they want to match the size of a dragon that caught their fancy, or perhaps they want to become stronger and surpass their limits. Show your dragon finding a reason to grow bigger.
  3. The ancestors of all dragons are said to be colossal beyond measure. As such, a dragon that wants to pass into legend will strive for the same stature. For the ones that stuck it out as small into old age, show them acquiring recognition for their accomplishments.
  4. Tattoos and paint are a common way of showing maturity. Show an elder or their Rider helping the dragon pick out their design. You can also have them show off their new tattoo to others. The dragon's import does not need to show this in later images or design updates unless you want it to stick.
  5. While a dragon requires strength to make it through tough situations, they also need to be able to cooperate with others. Show your dragon cooperating with other dragons on their own Rite of Passage to complete a goal, such as hunting a large creature.
  6. Show your dragon working with a Flight of dragons. These groups of dragons and Riders are similar to a guild and work to keep their territory peaceful. They always have quests posted! The Flight may be real or made up for the prompt. If you use a real dragon, the other dragon can't be doing any other prompt, but it will gain +1 EXP on top of its normal amount. If a Flight companion is not visible, then their sigil or quest posting must be somewhere in the art piece.
  7. Show your dragon throwing a party after a successful Rite of Passage, or just turning a particular age. Evidence of a party, such as balloons, pinatas, games, presents, or confetti should be visible.
  8. Show your dragon wearing special gear or equipment made for adult dragons during the Summer Equinox. Signs of Summer, such as fireflies, green foliage, or warm weather should be apparent.
