[Gift] FOTN - PINECONE

The forest was peaceful, not quiet for there was constant sounds, the wind through the trees, the rustling of small creatures as they foraged, and if you listened closely the slow breaths of an immense dragon, one who was easily mistaken for a fallen tree, or a boulder, her tail the brightest part of her hidden beneath the foliage that had fallen, autumn had come. Small creatures wove their way across her body and normally she wouldn't move, more than happy to as she was..

Usually... her tail twitched as yet another pinecone landed on her.... at first she assumed it was the natural way, for it was the season for them to fall.... however, each one very very specifically landed on her, or near her.. far to specific....to be natural even with her size. Many of these had already been taken by her smaller companions , but it was slowly starting to wear at her incredible patience.

Another struck, this one directly onto one of the many nests on her back... and this was the last straw. Yes, said nests were empty this time of year, but had it had a nestling or eggs, the force would of damaged it or even killed it.

The entire earth moved as Ignis stirred, her head swiveling around to the largest of the trees, where she could not only see pine cones... but also the glimmer of scales as the culprit darted back into hiding.. Too late... she'd already taken note of the immense tree, its surroundings and with she let her fire loose on it, wrapping around the tree and burning it... but making sure to keep it contained to just that tree.. She spotted the culprit scarpering? a small dragon maybe... and eventually let the fire fizzle out.... once the earth cooled, she would re-plant a seed or two..... and maybe that small one would know better in future.
The rest of the pinecones would be enjoyed by the forests inhabitants as they prepare for the colder months.
