The Future of Chronocompass

Returu has been pivotal to keeping the group alive since the moment she joined. She has done so much behind the scenes that it’s difficult to describe just how important she is to group growth and maintenance. She has a solid grasp of the lore, mechanics, and pretty much all of the admin responsibilities. Officially naming her the co-owner is more of a formality than anything. She now officially has just as much power as me to make final decisions in the group–including things like lore, activity rules, and emergency situations. I am incredibly grateful to have her on the team and greatly indebted to her for taking on the challenge. I am excited to see how the group runs with two people at the fore!
With that said, it means we can take time to focus on group development. Chronocompass suffers from a severe case of feature creep. There are many mechanics, but they feel shallow rather than fleshed out. Characters are meant to thrive in a living environment rather than hitting bullet points on their way to the top. In a way, this is the nature of ARPGs, but we’d like to do better. We want to take some time to make sure the experience is polished before moving on to new things, running large new events, and so on. The rest of the year will be spent on quality of life, site improvements, activity improvements, design improvements, and a reinspection of the game. This is meant to form a foundation that we can build major mechanics on in the future. This is a crucial step for new species, detailed expeditions, and other promised features. With two people at the helm, extra attention can finally be given to these areas.
To be clear, any and all work done can still be used, and you can still play your characters like you always have. Expectations are not moving for players–this is more of a polish and expansion of what you can do in existing group areas! More interpretations for character activities means more ways for characters to grow. Clear directions make it easier for players to participate. Better examples, better site navigation, and an easier way to anticipate results are just a few ways we plan on making things better. As always, you can suggest ways for the group to improve!
Unfortunately, this means events will be taking a back seat for a time. With that said, it would be weird to unceremoniously close down the event in the middle of a plot, and we do want to keep something special active. The current event will extend all the way until this phase of the group is ready to go. Think of it as some crazy time shenanigans while we get everything in place. A victory lap has been added in for players that have already completed it.
Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us during this crazy journey. Here’s to a new era of Chronocompass!

Umm so yeah, talk about an honor. Did I think all those years ago I'd be a co-owner when I made my navy cat a rider and got an albino noodle? Not in the least. (Sorcha says hi)
This group means so much to me, I love the lore of all characters and the lore of the group... and the mysteries that still are. And I've always wanted to help Cosmonstars out more, especially knowing how much they do in the background (and especially with all the changes from DA to the website to Lorekeeper), so for there to be a way to help alleviate some of the pressure, it's like a dream come true.
Will it be easy, no, but this group is quite frankly amazing and so welcoming so i certainly believe we can get there XD

Congrads and all the best with how the group progresses onwards!
