Den Theme: Underground Research Facility
It was a big place. Cold in a way that only a building like this could be. When no one was around, it was dark and eerie, the kind of place no one went to without good reason. It sat hidden in a mountain or was it below the mountain? Its entrance was as hidden as the place itself. A house sat above it in a way, just an average place of residence in a spot away from people. The surrounding villages called the owner a recluse, not mean but definitely not friendly so they avoided her house. But the house was simply a red herring, an object for others to look at while the real facility remained unknown.
Beside the house was a large long dragon, golden with browns and specks of a lighter color that looked like stars and spikes along his lower back. There was an unfriendly look to him. Perhaps he was mad it was his job to guard the house, to make sure the house seemed… lived in and to raise the alarm if anyone got too close or seemed too interested. The first line of defence, one might say. Beneath the house however, deep underground was where the real den lay. The house had one entrance, a smaller one, easy to enter and exit the facility by, if it was only Sparrow leaving or coming. The other entrance was bigger, sculpted to look like any other part of the mountain but inside that entrance was a giant elevator, huge in a way that only people with lots of money could comprehend.
Down the elevator led to an even bigger facility, a large wyvern stood in the main room, sharp but with gentle eyes. She chittered cheerfully at her rider’s arrival but her rider did not spare her a glance. That was normal. The lights in the facility were on and the machinery was running, there was something happening in the research facility but that wasn’t any of your business was it? Further into the abnormally large facility was a third dragon, red with no eyes, a strange beast that made no noise and said no sounds. She bowed her head at her rider’s arrival. It was hard to tell what the dragon was feeling but that was okay, Sparrow didn’t really care, she had other priorities right now.
There was one other entrance or perhaps it was more of an exit? A large door that opened inward, grass and fake trees covered it, so you would never know it was there until it opened. An easy way for Sparrow’s bigger dragons to come and go whenever she needed them to.
