Time is still out of balance, affecting the hatch time of many eggs. They are crawling out early! To participate in this Secret Santa, you will need an undesigned egg. You may choose to have a Frozen Egg rolled instead of submitting an old egg. The egg is returned to you at the end of the event with a design! Next, choose a trait you would like the egg to have*. Your egg gains that trait! Traits may become recessive at the designer’s discretion; The only exceptions are the requested trait. 

What traits are allowed?

You can request any trait except for the base-UR traits: Flaunt, Origin, Fairy, Echo, Wild, Shark, Somatic, Dancer, Veil, Grunge, Radiance, Phoenix, Swarm, Electric, Jeweled, Torrent, Avalanche, Cirrus, Celestial, Treasure.

If the egg already has one or more of these traits, that’s okay, you can still use it! You just can’t request a free one. Mythic physical traits are allowed (only one trait). Mutations are allowed. Elements do not count as traits, so your dragon’s element will remain the same unless affected by a mutation. If you choose Elemental Anomaly as your trait, you may choose your element or have it randomly rolled on Discord. If you choose Elemental Chimera as your mutation, it will be randomly rolled from available elements of the parents.

What is a Secret Santa?

For this Secret Santa, you make a custom dragon for someone. In return, you receive a custom dragon from someone else, along with a few other prizes! Who you get it from is a surprise, and the person you are assigned is also a surprise. You will not receive the same giftee or gifter as previous rounds in the season. Please keep your assignments a secret until April 17th What you get is random, so only participate if you are open to any possibilities. If you choose to have a Frozen Egg rolled for you, the randomly rolled egg is placed in spoilers. You can peek if you want. During the event, the egg is placed into ccbestiary’s care so it is not accidentally submitted before its time. It returns once the event is over, or in the event a player has to withdraw.

Designer Rules:

• You can switch anything to recessive EXCEPT for the Desired Trait.
• Honor the trait request.
• You can’t add traits other than the desired trait included in your message.

• To finish your design, you must also have it approved. An exception to DM reviews is made for secret santas--reply to the person who assigned you the task in order to have it reviewed.

F.A.Q.:

Can I include extra art/reference art/items for my secret santa?

Yes! Feel free to attach any art you like to your gift. Small Jewelry - Quartz and Small adornments are provided by the group, so you can include anything that falls under Small Adornments and/or Small Jewelry rules. Additional items are not allowed.

My egg has 20+ traits. Can I still submit it, even if it’s hard to design?

Yes! Please be aware that the people who receive your egg can make most traits recessive. This includes Display, Modifier, and Physical traits. If you want your egg to 100% have these traits when it’s hatched, then choose a different egg. If you have a trait that you absolutely need to stay, make it your trait request.

What Happens if I Can’t Finish My Design?

Your egg is returned to you and you receive no prizes. Your recipient will have their gift drawn by a moderator. If you are unable to finish your design and you know ahead of the deadline, let us know so we can reassign your task to someone else.

I am having trouble designing. Can I have some help?

The mods are always happy to help! You can message your mod helper on Discord. There is an exception to the no-mod-DMs rule for secret santas.

What Happens if I Don’t Like My Gift?

If you would prefer to have the art in your style, you may redraw it. Slight changes in marking coverage/trait coverage are allowed (such as reducing the number of stripes, increasing the amount of Debris, adding items, etc.). However, you cannot change the design that is given to you beyond that, and you cannot use the geno for anything else. When the dragon unlocks magic on its import, the original design should still be apparent through the magical additions. What you get is random, so only participate if you are open to any possibilities.

Can I Sell, Trade, or Gift my dragon?

• Before Upload: No. If you choose not to use it, it will simply go unused.
• After Upload: Once the dragon is uploaded, you may sell or transfer it like normal. There is a one month cooldown on ownership, so if you upload it on February 2nd, you can sell it on March 2nd.

Can I enter Multiple Secret Santas in one season?

Yes! Have at it :) This strangely long Festival, there will be three secret santa events. This is the second!
